The answer depends on several factors specific to your property and move — but this guide gives you realistic estimates based on actual removals across the Medway towns and wider Kent area, along with everything that can affect the timing on the day.

Typical removal times for Medway and Kent properties

One-bedroom flat or studio

A one-bedroom flat or studio in Medway — including the many conversion apartments in Rochester's historic core and Chatham's waterfront developments — typically takes between two and four hours for a professional two-person team to load, drive to the new property and unload. This assumes all items are packed and ready to load. Well-organised moves with minimal furniture and boxes at the lower end, moves involving a higher floor with no lift at the upper end.

Two-bedroom property

A typical two-bedroom house or flat in Medway — the most common property type across ME1 to ME8 — takes between three and six hours for a professional team. A well-organised, well-packed two-bedroom property with good access at both ends can be completed in three to four hours. Add access challenges, higher floors, larger volumes or packing on the day and the time moves toward six hours.
