We want the process of getting a quote and booking your removal to be as easy and clear as possible. Here is exactly what happens after you get in touch.
As soon as your quote request comes in, a member of our team reads through all the details you have provided. We look at the property size, the postcodes, the date, any access challenges and any special requirements you have mentioned. If we need any clarification, we will call you promptly. We do not send generic, vague quotes without understanding the specific job.
We prepare a fully itemised, fixed-price quote that covers everything we have agreed. This includes the crew size, vehicle size, time allocation, any packing or storage services discussed, and the total price including VAT. We send this to you by email, usually within 60 minutes during business hours. There are no hidden additions after this stage.
When you are happy with the quote, you confirm the booking and pay a deposit to secure your moving date. We send you a full booking confirmation by email. As your moving date approaches, we carry out a pre-move call to go through all the final details and answer any questions. On moving day, we arrive at the agreed time and handle everything from that point forward.
We believe in being transparent about how we price our removals. While every move is different and we always provide a bespoke quote, the following guide gives you a general sense of what to expect for common move types in Medway and across Kent. All prices are indicative and your actual quote may be higher or lower depending on the specific details of your move.
A compact local move within Medway typically requires a transit-sized vehicle and 2 crew members. Estimated range for a local move: £250 to £400 depending on access, floor level and volume of belongings.
A 2-bedroom flat or house move within Medway typically requires a Luton-sized vehicle and 2 to 3 crew. Estimated range for a local move: £350 to £550 depending on specific requirements.
A 3-bedroom house move within Medway or across Kent typically requires a 7.5-tonne vehicle and 3 crew. Estimated range: £550 to £850 for a local move. Higher for longer distances or with packing.
A larger family home requires a large 7.5-tonne vehicle or two vehicles, and 3 to 5 crew. Estimated range for a local Kent move: £900 to £1,500 and above, depending on volume and requirements.
For single items, small loads and short moves, our man and van service in Rochester and Medway starts from £90 to £150 for a short local job. Larger jobs and longer distances are priced individually.
Long distance removals from Kent to other parts of the UK are priced based on distance, property size and specific requirements. Contact us for an accurate quote for your destination.
These are general guide prices only. Your actual fixed-price quote will be based on the specific details of your move. Factors that affect price include: property size, volume of belongings, access at both properties, distance, date of move, and any additional services required.
Once you have an agreed completion or tenancy end date, contact us to secure your preferred removal date with a deposit. End-of-month Fridays and Saturdays in the summer fill up very quickly in Medway and across Kent. The earlier you book, the more likely you are to get your first-choice date. If you are in the early stages of a property transaction and your date is not yet confirmed, we can provisionally pencil in a date and firm it up when you have confirmation, subject to availability.
If you are not using our professional packing service, start packing items you do not need on a daily basis as early as 3 to 4 weeks before your move. Books, out-of-season clothing, spare bedding, decorative items, DVDs and similar items can all be boxed up well ahead of time. Label every box clearly with the contents and the room it is destined for in your new property. This helps our crew load efficiently and ensures nothing ends up in the wrong room.
If your property is on a restricted parking street, a permit zone or a very narrow road in Medway, you should contact Medway Council in advance to arrange a temporary parking suspension for the removal vehicle. This typically requires at least 7 working days notice and involves a small fee payable to the council. We can advise you on the correct vehicle length to request based on the size of vehicle we plan to bring. Failure to arrange adequate parking is one of the most common causes of delay on moving day.
On moving day, you will not be able to locate specific items in boxes easily once loading has begun. Before the removal starts, set aside a clearly labelled box or bag with the things you will need immediately on arrival at your new property. This should include kettle, mugs, tea and coffee, phone chargers, toilet paper, a change of clothes, medications, important documents and anything else you will need before you can unpack properly. Keep this box with you in your car rather than on the removal vehicle.
